Scribepost, Jan. 29/ 09

Today, Mr. Isfeld made the quiz about the balancing problems that we have been doing for a while now. The balancing problem : Triangle=4, Dimond=3, Rectangle=2, Square=8, Oval [with stripes]=1, Circle=4, & Pentagon=10

Then Mr. Isfeld gave us an algebra question if you were finished.

This is what it is : 2A+11=31

Mr. Marks Questions : 6-3x=-6, X /5 = -3/4, 5X/4+3=-7, 4+3b=25
[ Hint, the second question will have a DECIMAL in it.]

Mr. Marks Tip " To Solve The Problem You Must Isolate The Variable"

While the class was in french, Gordon and I figured out all the problems. (guys I'm not giving you the answers because you have your home work and I have mine :p)

Scribepost for 01-22-09

Hi!!
Today in math class we did # of the day, a quiz about range, outliers, median, mode, and mean, another thing we did today was a balancing act.

# of the day-3179.269

Range-lowest # - Highest # = answer example, (1,2,3,4,5) 5-1=4!!

Outlier-The number that is very different from the others

Median-The middle number in a set of numbers Example, (3,6,9,12,15) median is 9

Mode-The number that shows more often than the others Example, (22,27,58,22,26) mode is 22

Mean-The average number Example (12,15,14,19) add all up then divide by how many the # is, the mean is 15.

Here is the Balancing Act we did today!!

Heey Everyone !

Today in math class we did number of the day and we did text book work. It was about range and outlier.

range- 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 777, 88.
you take the smallest number , and the biggest number and you subtract it from each other.

Outlier- 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 777, 88.
777 dosent fit in with that set of numbers because its a odd number.

Thank you for looking at my post please comment .

Congrats to All of You! :D

Great job you guys!

It has only been 2 days since you were taught how to use Blogger (better), and you guys are using those notes pretty fast. It's also nice to see that a lot of people are leaving comments behind. Keep it up! If you do, we'll hopefully see more visitors checking out our blog (by looking at the Cluster Map). I'm sure that Mr. Isfeld and Mr. Harbeck are also very proud of you all.

Keep up all the great work!

scribepost january 14 2009

Today we learned how to make a scribe post follow these steps and you can make one too...

LINK - Highlight a word and press the green link button, then look for a site that you think will build interest. Then copy and paste the URL. After you get a link click on preview and test the link.

IMAGE - Find a image on Google images then save it to your computer then browse and find the image that you saved (delete image after if you don't want it). Then you can change the layout and the size of the image if you choose to. Then press upload image after that press done.

VIDEO - Then you can go to youtube and find a video that could build interest about the topic you are writing about. Once you have found a video click on it and go to the grey box and highlight and copy the code that is in the box beside the word embed. Then click on Edit Html scroll to the bottom then paste the code, then click compose and then click preview.

FONT
- To change the font click the arrow next to the word font then scroll down and find a font that you like and that others can read.

COLOUR
- To change the colour click the T with the multi coloured square and then change the colour of the important facts and titles don't use too many colours or else it will be to distracting also avoid light colours like yellow because what ever you wrote will be hard to read.

SIZE -
To change the size click the double T's then choose the size you want to write with don't make the size too small or too large.

(This is also the h.w.)We worked on some mode, mean, median, range and outlier problems the problems were...

A - 17,7,16,23,24,23,27,28,23

B - 14,8,7,11,12,8

And...

Find the prime factors of 42 using a factor tree.

Thank you for looking at my post please
comment. I choose Jarret to scribe next.
